To ensure a positive and safe environment for everyone, we implement a set of rules and expectations for all campers:
• Have a positive attitude and participate fully in all the daily camp games & activities.
• Recognize and follow rules/instructions for all games & activities.
• Keep hands and feet to ourselves.
• Be respectful and kind to one another (no bullying or teasing others).
• Use appropriate language.
• Ensure a safe and clean camp environment.
• Be inclusive and accepting of one another and our differences.
• Take turns and play fair.
• Have Fun!
If a camper struggles with the rules and/or listening to staff, staff will have a one-on-one discussion with the camper to explain why the rules are in place. If the behaviour continues, the parent/guardian will be notified during sign-out and will be asked to review the rules with their camper at home. If the behaviour persists, a senior staff will connect with the parent/guardian to discuss the behaviours and how staff can best support the camper moving forward.
If a camper becomes aggressive or physically violent, the Camp Coordinator will remove the camper from the program immediately. A parent/guardian or emergency contact will be called to pick up the camper and a conversation will take place with senior staff to further discuss the situation/options.
BGC North Simcoe is a recreation-based program, with staff ratios of 1 staff to every 15 children in place and we are not always equipped to support complex needs or behaviours in all of our programs/locations. Possible arrangements for support(s)/ modifications may be available upon request this summer. These supports are limited and are dependent on program and staff's training, funding allotments, and the complexity of your child's needs. Additional or Inclusion supports (1:1 or support workers) above the 1:15 ratio is not guaranteed.
We urge Parents/Guardians/Caregivers to reach out via phone call OR to send an email to the supervisor to further discuss the child's needs, options available for their child(ren) and to determine if our programs will be a good fit for your child, prior to registration.
If a program cancellation/refund is requested 10 days (2 weeks) prior to the program/camp start date a refund will be issued, minus a non-refundable deposit of $25 per week per child.
Refunds will not be issued with less than 10 days (2 weeks) notice.
Refunds will be issued to the original payee. Cash/Debit payments will be refunded by cheque and credit card payments will be refunded to the original card on file. Please allow up to 4 weeks to receive your refund.
*We do not offer refunds for sick days or absences.
It is extremely important to your child as well as our staff that you arrive on time at the end of day. We offer extended care until 4:30pm each day at no additional cost for those who may need it. If a camper is picked up late (past 4:30pm), a fee of $1 per minute will be charged to your account. Please note that subsequent late pick-ups will result in a higher late fee per minute.
We at BGC North Simcoe never want program fees to be a barrier in accessing our programs. If you are in need of financial support, please reach out to club@bgcnorthsimcoe.com for further information regarding our subsidy program and application form.
*Our Camp Parent/Guardian Manual will be available and sent out to all registered families in June.
